We got a chance to speak with the team to go behind the scenes of the organization to find out what makes BlueGrace Logistics one of the best places to work. Let’s see what they had to say.
Q: What was the funniest recognition you’ve ever received?
A: We were recently recognized in Inc.’s “Worlds Coolest Offices” section for having a snow machine inside the office for our Christmas party.
Q: What was the happiest moment at work?
A: For me, it was the morning of my 40th birthday at the office. I was asked to attend a company-wide meeting that, oddly enough, wasn’t called by me. When I came out of my office, a video started playing on our big screen that had a series of interviews featuring employees, friends, and even some family. They told funny stories, shared their favorite things about the company, and wished me a happy birthday.
As if that wasn’t enough to make someone feel special, they announced another surprise hiding behind wrapping paper on a wall. They had all decided to use their own money to custom design a beautiful BlueGrace Logistics logo sign that is now located on our main floor. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in and really accents our new pallet wall.
This meant the world because it showed me how much appreciation they have for what we’ve created here at BlueGrace. It only further proved that my vision for employee happiness being a top priority truly pays off in so many ways.
Q: What kind of fun activities does your company participate in?
A: Our biggest & craziest culture event of each year is our Annual Halloween Party
Q: What is the one thing that every company can do to make their employees happier?
A: An employee recognition program. We have a Teammate of the Week that gets recognized in our company-wide meeting on Mondays by the CEO. They get to keep an authentic UFC Champion Belt at their desk for the week, play our Plinko Game for a cash prize, and their picture goes up on our TVs throughout the office.
We also have a peer-to-peer program which allow employees to recognize each other with $50 bonuses paid by the company when they see fit.
Q: If you could describe your work culture in three words, what would they be?
A: Open. Engaging. Fun.
